The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
The Q Revo is an excellent choice if you're looking for a mid-range mop and robot vacuum. It's a great mopping capabilities, but is lacking certain of the more advanced features found in its more expensive counterpart.
In the course of testing, it was able to take on dust and dry oats on carpets of medium pile as well as pet hair on hard flooring. It doesn't use LIDAR, however, like cheaper models do to map your home.
1. Roomba S9+ from iRobot
The iRobot Roomba S9+ is one of the top-rated robot vacuums. It is loaded with features and incredible cleaning power, including a dirt compartment that is integrated into the base of charging. It can also learn your cleaning habits and suggest automated schedules for a truly hands-free experience.
The setup process is simple thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the process. Once everything is connected, you can begin the automated cleaning process at the click of the button. You can choose an overall clean that focuses on cleaning up larger debris like rice and cereal, or opt for two thorough maps of your area to ensure your entire home gets a proper look.
This robot vacuum is effective both on bare floors and carpets with a low pile. It is able to take large objects and doesn't lose suction as quickly as other models do, and it can even remove pet hair without much difficulty. It does have a hard time with high-pile or plush carpet, but iRobot says it will get better with the next models.
The S9+ is a new design by iRobot that concentrates on enhancing corner and edge cleaning. It's the very first Roomba that adopts a flat-fronted D-shaped design. The company hopes that this will allow it to fit into walls and furniture. It's a nice change from the hockey puck-like design of robovacs, but we discovered it to be only marginally better than circular models.
iRobot claims that the S9+ also comes with an advanced filtration system, which prevents tiny particles and allergens from circulating within your home. It's a nice premise, but we're not convinced it's enough to justify the high price tag.
Its smart navigation system utilizes sensors to store the structure of your home, and vSLAM for mapping the interior. This allows it to avoid obstacles like staircases and other barriers, and also to clean your entire home efficiently possible. The iRobot Home App allows you to schedule cleaning times and also set virtual boundary markers so that the robot can determine which areas need extra attention.
2. Roborock Q Revo
Roborock Q Revo is a machine that is a combination of mopping and vacuuming. Its vacuum settings are as good as those on more expensive models. Its mopping system is better because its spinning pads clean your floors more efficiently than a vibrating pad.
The only drawback is the lack of a second brush to allow for deeper cleaning. However, it's not a big deal for those who want to own one of the top robots on the market. The robo-vac's tank for dust is larger than many of its rivals and takes only two or three cycles to fill it up, even with the highest dirt level.
As for the mopping system, I was amazed by its ability to scrub hard dirt off my floors. Its two lowest mopping modes that are less aggressive than the high-powered ones, create little noise, allowing you to work or even watch television without interruption. If it encounters the wall or a piece of furniture, it gently bumps into it and moves forward.
The Q Revo is unique in that it can run almost autonomously, with little user involvement. The dock of the robo-vac has multiple functions and can automatically transfer garbage into a bin hidden. It also washes and dries the clean water tank. The app will only inform you if something is wrong, such as low water levels or a canceled vacuuming session due to the bin being full.
You can also design and merge actual rooms to alter the way that Q Revo treats your abode. This feature is beneficial for those who have different flooring in different areas of your home, or if you need to regularly get rid of clutter like toys, clothes, and books. The robot vacuum was also one of the top performers in my tests, picking up debris on carpets as well as hardwood floors on the first pass. It can vacuum up even wet spills. I suggest drying the area with a towel prior to sending it into.
3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni is a premium robot mop and vacuum that has all the features you could need. It has a rotating mop and a powerful vacuum that can clean carpets as well as hard floors. It is similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+. It also comes with an auto-cleaning base station that automatically cleans and empty the mop pads, keeping them clean and ready for use again. It also has a new sensor system that is able to better detects obstacles, granting it the ability to prevent falling over furniture or other objects.
The biggest difference over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that this model has a sleeker, more modern design due to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best known for Bang & Olufsen products). The robot is still big. It measures over two feet in the height and depth and weighs nearly four pounds. However the robot as well as its base are smaller than the Roborock Q Revo and iRobot J7.
This version is also more efficient than the X1, as it charges faster and can handle a complete cleaning of approximately 1,500 square feet in one charge. Additionally, it comes with a larger dustbin that is more durable and can hold more debris and is easier to empty when needed.
The X2 Omni also has a more intuitive voice assistant and an app that works even if you are not at home. It also has a smart routing function that lets it clean specific rooms or areas of your home instead of following a predetermined route.
The Omni Omni has the top mopping performance of any robot we've tested, thanks to its rotating mop pads that clean tough stains away and a motor that vacuum robot produces plenty of downward pressure. Its vacuuming performance is also excellent, and it increases suction when it senses carpets to ensure thorough cleaning. It also has a large battery that can last for weeks between charges, and its mopping mode is as efficient as any we've seen in the market for a consumer robot.
4. Dreametech L10s Ultra
The Dreametech L10s Ultra is a high-end robot vacuum and mop that comes with a variety of convenience features that you don't often see on robots of this price range. It is able to create detailed floor maps and detect various flooring types. It's also among the only robots that automatically clean and dry its mop pad. Although these features are great, they also put the L10s Ultra in the category of luxury which could make it somewhat more expensive than some homeowners require.
Created to look like a contemporary floor cleaner designed to look like a modern floor cleaner, the L10s Ultra is a tall and slim machine with an elegant white finish enhanced by mirror plating and silver elements. The front of the machine is dominated by a huge bumper, which helps protect the vacuum and furniture from damage while moving around the home. In the pane in the front is a second navigation technology with sensors that help the L10s Ultra maneuver tight corners and avoid obstacles.
On the top, you'll find a single button that essentially is a switch for on and off. This button will turn on the vacuum. If you click it again, it will turn it off and send it back to its base station. The control panel is the circular menu which lets you select cleaning modes, schedules, and preferences. The left and right buttons open the app's settings where you can alter the way the L10s Ultra interacts with your home.
Similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+ and Roborock Q Revo, the L10s Ultra uses a combination of LIDAR and camera-based navigation technology to map out your house. This allows the robot to vacuum and mop effectively without getting stuck. The LIDAR also assists the robot vacuum detect and avoid obstacles, which is a nice feature for households with pets or children.
The L10s Ultra offers solid vacuuming performance that clears 98.4% of debris from our hard-floor test and taking out all but the most stubborn juice stains. Its mops also perform well, removing 98.4 percent of the debris from our tile, carpet, and wood tests. However, it wasn't as effective in removing sand from the floor or the quaker oats that are on carpet.
