iRobot Roomba 694"
The Roomba 694 from iRobot is a basic robot vacuum that performs well on both carpets with low pile and bare floors. It has good suction however it has trouble with larger debris like sand or grains of rice. It does a good job cleaning pet hair but isn't as strong against knots as premium Roomba models like the I6 and j7.
The Roomba is easy to use. It features three buttons on the top cover. "Clean," which triggers a cleaning process and 'Dock' that puts it in its charging station and "Spot," which initiates a targeted cleaning. You can control it using an app for smartphones that lets you to schedule cycles, stop and start them and adjust settings. It can also be paired with smart home devices such as Alexa or Google Assistant for voice-controlled operation.
This vacuum cleaner is slower than others, but can still be able to reach the majority of corners and crevices. It has a huge dust bin that is ideal for reducing the frequency the frequency you have to empty it. It is compatible with digital mapping and virtual barriers, which lets you make the robot avoid certain areas, or even stop cleaning altogether to prevent it from getting stuck.
It's not the most effective in its price, but it's still better than most other options. This self-emptying robot with a budget does a decent job on hard floors as well as carpets with low pile. Its combinator brush gets to the edges and corners, and then automatically increases suction as soon as it senses carpet. It also does a good job of cleaning embedded dirt off carpet in the middle. The IQ has a tiny footprint and a self-emptying function. However, if you wish to change floor levels on the map, or set no-go zones you'll have manually reset it to do this, which is a bit of trouble.
The IQ app comes with advanced mapping and automated features, however it lacks no-go zones. These are only available on iRobot robots. The smart-pathing technology allows for greater maneuverability and the high-pile feature of its carpet cleaning mode is very effective but it could get caught on rug tassels.
During our tests, we discovered that the IQ handled pet hair well. It was able to get rid of lots of debris on floors that were unfinished and a good amount of medium-pile rug. It was less effective on shag carpets where it struggled to get at dirt and dust buried in the fibers. It did a decent job of maneuvering the legs of chairs, tight spaces, and the wooden base of an IKEA step stool. We did notice that it was a little slower on floors that were not paved, but it regained speed and performed better than other robots we tested.
The IQ is a better option than the iRobot Roomba 694 for most uses. It has a larger dustbin and a longer battery life, and is better at navigating around obstacles. It has mopping tools that can remove sticky debris. On the other side, the iRobot is built better, has fewer parts that require maintenance or replacement and incurs lower costs for recurring maintenance and can even create virtual no-go zones with its companion app. It is able to continue cleaning from where it left off, even if the battery is out before it's finished. The iRobot can also be controlled using voice, which is a huge plus for many users.
Eufy 11S
The RoboVac 11S eufy robot vacuum isn't one of the most advanced models, but it provides powerful cleaning power at an affordable price. It's a budget-friendly option for buyers who don't require a complicated mapping system or app to control the device. This robot can last for up to an hour. It comes with the remote control, cleaning tool and AC power adapter.
The 11S is slim and elegant and has a tempered glass upper deck that looks like brushed aluminum. It's a nice contrast to Roomba, Samsung, and Neato designs that are more industrial and utilitarian.
In our tests, the eufy 11S was extremely effective at removing large particles and fine dust on hard floors. It was unable to thoroughly clean carpets with high and medium piles. It is also prone to bump into furniture and people in its path however, it is able to detect obstacles with sensors. When it comes across them, it halts and emits a loud beep so you can manually guide it around the obstacle and then get it back to work.
Another excellent aspect of the eufy 11S here is its BoostIQ mode, which allows you to set the robot to automatically adjust the strength of its suction to match floor type and the level of mess. The remote control makes it simple to direct the 11S to the desired area.
If you don't have much furniture in the room you'd like to vacuum, Single Room Mode is an excellent option. The eufy will take 30 minutes cleaning the area it's assigned to.
Edge Cleaning is another option that reduces the time that is spent on each area to 20 minutes. This will increase the battery's life. With this option the eufy can move in a spiral fashion to clean edges and corners for a thorough clean.
Miele Complete C1
The Miele Complete C1 canister robot is a great mid-range vacuum cleaner that performs well on carpet. Its performance on carpets with no floor is also outstanding. It is able to remove small particles like rice easily, and it doesn't lose suction power even when its dirt bin fills. Its air-sealed and allergy-friendly design capture allergens to keep your family safe. It uses an onboard HEPA filter and a self-emptying bin, so you don't have to buy additional filters or a separate vacuum bag.
It's not as effective as more expensive models, but it's ideal for deep cleaning and fighting stains. The two cameras on the front of the unit provide a live image feed on your smartphone, and it has one of the top obstacle avoidance systems we've ever seen. It has a large bin, a long running time and the ability to clean up quickly and without bumps.
